New Options For Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey

Your new home might not be built the way it used to - in fact, it might be coming to you on the road and be built in a climate controlled environment miles away from your homesite.

Clayton Homes launched a new marketing campaign today that might challenge everything you ever thought about manufactured housing. The home shown in the video was in Ft Worth, Texas and is built at the SE Homes of Texas plant - a division of Clayton Homes.

This is just the beginning, I've heard there are lots more great things to come!

Going In A Different Direction: Updating Your Countertops With Natural Stone

What's old is new again... consumers are choosing the times look of natural stone for their countertops, baths, and even walls.
Antolini is our favorite stone gallery, and talk about works of art - their slabs make us want to start remodeling the Home Idea Factory all over again!

Fortunately my sister decided to remodel her kitchen and add a Galley Sink so it's been a lot of fun working with her and sharing new trends. We shared the experience and why we love natural stone products so much on our Lifestylist blog.

Mid Century Modern Beauty in Dallas

We have always loved reading CandysDirt.com - it's a gateway into the most beautiful and interesting homes in Dallas and it's a great place to find out all the dirt about what's going on in Dallas real estate.

Lifestylist® Suzanne Felber has written before about new home construction and trends there, and now she is going to be a regular contributor!

She attended the quarterly Staff Meeting that Candy hosts, and this one was at a stunning mid-century gem that was actually designed by the same architect that designed NorthPark Center. The home has been lovingly restored, and is available to be your new home through Emily Price Carrigan Properties.

Remembering Hurricane Katrina 10 Years Later

It's hard to believe that's it's been 10 years since Katrina set her eye on New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. So much of the media was focused on New Orleans, but the entire Gulf Coast especially in Mississippi has yet to fully recover from her wrath.
When it became obvious that here was going to be extensive loss of housing , the Manufactured Housing Institute and the manufactured housing community sprung into action to make sue that people would have a place to live that was safe.
A few years after the storm MHI's magazine: Modern Homes had an article written by Lifestylist® Suzanne Felber with photography by Lisa Stewart Photography that shared what progress had been made, and what an important part of the rebuilding process manufactured housing played.
You can read a copy of the article here.

Defining Modern

Modern Homes has become such a popular tagline, but the interpretation of what that means is different for everyone.

What is your version?

Modern Homes

It's really exciting to see how PreFab housing is becoming today's modern homes preference.

The Dwell on Design conference is going on this week, and it's exciting to see how much of the focus is on factory built housing.
